Lesson 5

Do I even have to say anything at this point?

Capital pathologizing nature. Look at where they are, sitting on overturned trash cans? Surrounded by mounds of garbage and they are insecure about their odor?

It's ridiculous to have a fish vending machine outside a fishmonger's. It's ridiculous to have a vending machine for FLIES when you can get those for free by ignoring your trash. It's ridiculous to sell cologne by the dumpsters.

Think about the running motif in Real Life and played up in movies like Parasite and Gonin (asd many others) where the rich use smell to detect The Poors. Is it that the poor are inherently smelly or have you forgotten the animal that lives in you? The world beneath the wealth?

And what of the more specific ideas around the beauty industry? They offer promises to change you, transform you, yet they know your environment will prevent the change from sticking. They know it is a temporary mask they provide and they know you will keep coming back for more because you cannot meet this imaginary standard. That's turning insecurity into gold directly.

And yet

Heathcliff and his friend do nothing to disrupt the vending machine beauty complex. They sit idly by and accept "this is the way of things." It's the same resignation we saw on Monday and a similar flavor to Tuesday.

monday and tuesday, for reference. I am struggling to find my previous analyses on these so stay tuned.
