Lesson 6

Oil Vending.

AI is here to stay.

Amazing. Incisive.

Vending machines are, this week, being used like an Indicator. A symbol of "The Times, They Are a-Changin'."

Convenience is one of the major exports of the US Machine. We trade SO much of our life away in a quest for convenience. The Market does not want us to develop skills or interests and constantly sells ways to "save time" but we end up having nothing of value to fill that time with. AI is the latest craze in that department. You don't have to learn how to make art, just use an AI. You don't have to learn how to write an essay, just use an AI. It completely bypasses the reason we make those things in the first place.

With that out of the way, let's talk Heathcliff.

AI is here to stay. How can we tell? Because the market is warping itself to manufacture consent for it. Simply creating infrastructure for AI to participate in convenience the same way people do has made Gramps believe in the staying power. He interprets the Symbol of the vending machine the same way many of us do: The Money Makers have made space for AI so that must mean AI will stick. It's THE SAME RESIGNATION WE SEE IN PRIOR COMICS THIS WEEK.

But there's something else here, too.

Capital has installed these "convenient machines" for the robots to use for oil. But why? Why force these robots to go through the very physical process of putting a dollar into a vending machine? It's a vector of control. It's a hoop you *have* to jump through in order to access Their "Convenience." If they can convince you to do that, they can start guiding you down the path. "This is just how it is."

"Looks like AI is here to stay. They are being strung along just like us."
